How to adjust brightness minimum and maximum in Vanguard?

  • How do I adjust the brightness table for my display? It looks too bright at night. For example the controller reports the brightness to be 5%, but I want it to report 1%.

Environment

  • Product Family:  Transportation

  • Product:  VF-2XXX and VL- series displays.

  • Component:  VFC (Vanguard Field Controller), VFC-3000

  • Control System:  Vanguard Software V4.25 or newer

    • Brightness table

Steps

Navigate to Display Control Panel, then Manage brightness, then Edit brightness table.

Click on Refresh, (if nothing happens then click on Load Defaults) You will see the image below. Move the vertical bars from the center of the screen over to the left (click on the bar and hold the mouse button to drag each one). For example the left one is on 0% and the right one is on 5% or change to whatever you desire.

Click on Make Dimmer to adjust the Levels  between each bar.

Once changes are made, you can click on OK to save this to the controllers memory.

Note: If you make a mistake, you can click Refresh or Load defaults to start over.
