FL-2000 Driver board burnt up, Power harness wired incorrectly.

Potential Symptoms

  • Display is blank.
  • Driver board has burn marks next to the J5 power port.
  • Driver board starts to smoke shortly after power on.
    • May have burnt through multiple replacement drivers.
  • Can hear a capacitor pop when board starts to smoke.
  • Power harness cable color does not match the colors written on the driver board.

Cause

  • Power harness is wired incorrectly.

Resolution

  • Re-wire power harness so it matches the colors written on the driver.
    • Pin E1 is the red wire.
    • Pin E2 is the blue wire.
    • Pin E3 is the brown wire.
