No communication, No power to server radio; Incorrect radio J-box transformer

Potential Symptoms

  • Server (building) radio is receiving no power.
  • No output voltage from the signal converter.
  • Confirmed receiving 0VDC on the power (green) and ground (red) pins.
  • Signal converter (J-box) not outputting 12VDC to the server (building) radio.
  • Signal converter (J-box) is not receiving proper voltage from the transformer.

Cause

  • Wrong transformer.
    • DC transformer connected to the signal converter and not the correct AC transformer.

Resolution

  • Replace with correct AC transformer.
    • 12vAC output; 1667 mA
    • Note: Damage may have occurred to J-box due to incorrect voltage being applied to it so it may be necessary to replace the radio J-box.
