Content Studio: How do I create an RSS feed?

Steps

The display needs to be compatible with data to utilize this feature. For information on display models and data, please see What displays and software are compatible with XML / RSS feeds? . Data opens a link to a data feed from an internet source.  Acceptable data feeds include time, temperature, RSS, or XML feeds. 

Create Message in Content Studio

This is done with Feed Data configured in Venus Control Suite's Data Studio app. See: Data Studio: How do I set up a RSS or data feed in Venus Control Suite?

Open Content Studio.

  1. While logged into VCS, click on Media.
  2. Click down arrow next to Upload.
  3. Select New Content Studio Presentation.
  4. Enter in username and password.

Enable the Dynamic Data Library Plug-in if it hasn't been done so already.

  1. Click on the Venus Logo in upper left hand corner.
  2. Click on Content Studio Options.
  3. Select Plugins.
  4. Place a checkmark in Dynamic Data Library and click Ok.

Add feed items to your content.

Drag and drop items from Dynamic Data Library onto the presentation. Full process is here: Content Studio: How do I create presentations with data elements?

  1. Adjust the size of your textbox based on how many characters you want to show. 
  2. Change formatting as desired.
  3. Click on the Venus logo in upper left-hand corner.

Finish presentation.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Name the presentation.
  3. After saving, the content will upload directly to the Media Library.
