StatVision fails to open DakStats Database

Potential Symptoms

    Environment

    • Product: DakStats
    • Component: StatVision
    • Control System: GameDay

    Cause

    • The GameDay download is affecting the Microsoft database by setting the properties of the file to read only
    • the "Everyone" group in the sharing permissions is being removed on the .MDB when the file is downloaded

    Resolution

    • DakStats baseball must be opened and the correct season must be selected when downloading the game from GameDay to prevent this issue from happening.

      For Temporary Operation

      1. Close out of StatVision, DSTI,  and DakStats  
      2. Add "Everyone" as a user with full privileges to the affected .mdb (e.g. c:\Daktronics\DakStats baseball\2016 reds\2016 reds.mdb)

      3. DakStats baseball must be opened and the correct season must be selected when downloading the game from Data Studio Baseball.
      4. DakStats baseball need to have the game open for DSTI to send the correct season to StatVision
      5. Make sure the Messaging settings for both DSTI and DakStats match.
        • Both will need to be set to "Different Machine" if Statvision is on another machine (even if DSTI and DakStats are on the same machine).
        • Both will need to be set to "Same Machine" if Statvision is on DSTI machine.
