VCS, Content Studio will not launch, Antivirus software is blocking Daktronics Venus Client

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to open Content Studio through VCS.
  • When trying to launch Content Studio through VCS, it just sits there. No errors.
  • VenusClientSetup.exe was installed properly, but was scanned by antivirus upon installation.
  • Shortly after Content Studio installation content studio may be able to open, but eventually it will stop launching or will prematurely close out and will not be able to be launched again.

Cause

  • Antivirus is blocking Daktronics Venus Client.

Resolution

  1. Create an exception in antivirus for the Daktronics programs folder located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics.
  2. Run a repair on "Daktronics Venus Client" located in Control Panel\Programs and Features.
  3. Ensure Content Studio launches properly through Venus Control Suite.
