Stats Request not Working for all Players on Stat Crew Roster

Potential Symptoms

  • Stats Request not working for all players from Stat Crew.
    Note: "zero-length string" error may appear whenever a play with stats in game has a name with special character, or appears with no first name and comma preceding last name - i.e. " ,Smith"
  • Players with last name, first initial not receiving stats, e.g. Smith, J.
  • DSTI popup error stating "Field 'ROSTERS.LASTNAME' cannot be a zero-length string."

Cause

  • Incorrect naming format used on roster setup.
    Example (verified from XMLOUTPUT database): Checkname="LYNDEMIANBROOKS" *This name used reaches maximum characters, and doesn't allow for the comma between first and last name.

Resolution

  • Rename the players in Stat Crew to lastname,firstname.
  • Alternatively, if do not want to use that naming convention, may also use F. Lastname or Lastname F.
  • Also, could be a player with a special character in their name, remove special characters.
  • After changing player name, error message will allow being closed and the stats request should work for that player.
