Animations and videos will not play when I preview them in Content Studio.

Potential Symptoms

  • Animations and videos will not play when I preview them in Content Studio.
  • My animation will not move when I play it.

Environment

  • Content Studio

Cause

  • The animation or video was imported as an image.

Resolution

  • When importing animations and videos make sure that you select Video as the the file format.
    • From the Home Tab:
      1. Click on the Home Tab in the ribbon.
      2. Click on the Media Item in the Quick Insert panel.
      3. Select Video.
      4. Click the Import button in the upper right-hand corner of the Video Import window
    • From the Insert Tab:
      1. Click on the Insert Tab in the ribbon.
      2. Click on Video in the Media panel.
      3. Click the Import button in the upper right-hand corner of the Video Import window.
    • From the Media Library:
      1. Click on the Videos tab.
      2. Import video by double-clicking or dragging and dropping into the layout.
      3. Click the Import button in the upper right-hand corner of the Video Import window.
