M3 File Manager shows nothing under Database Files, unable to transfer new content to display

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to transfer any newly created content or play content, but can make buttons and save content in Content Studio.
  • When clicking on the M3 File Manager widget, there are no files listed under Database files.
  • If a new database is created, then able to create new content and send.

Environment

  • Display Studio
  • M3 Controlled Display

Cause

  • A file in the database lost its file name, likely in the root directory.

Resolution

  • Open and re-save message with a file name and delete the original file.
  • Note: It is best practice to save content at least one folder deep (e.g. in the Default folder), rather than in the root directory.

Work Around

  • Clear out database via Nucleus Database Utility and start fresh.
