Potential Symptoms
- Unable to open Venus 1500 v4 after upgrading to Windows 8.1.
- When opening Venus, receiving "Credential store is not accessible. Ensure that SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service is running."
- Fusion errors in Event Viewer show "MissingMethodException: Method Not Found: 'Void System.Diagnostics.Tracing.FrameworkEventSource.BeginGetResponse(System.Object, System.String)."
- Note: This error is also present in Venus 1500 error logs as well as SQL Server 2008 error logs.
Environment
- Venus 1500 v4.20.4
- Microsoft Windows 7 or 8.1
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2
Cause
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 is missing from the computer or needs updating and is required for SQL Server 2008 to operate properly on a Windows 8.1 computer.
Resolution
- Run Windows updates and restart computer.
Work Around
- If Windows are up to date Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2.
