Non-visual alert on module; Issue with adjacent module

Potential Symptoms

  • Non visual diagnostic alerts for module in IDM.
  • Alert is currently present and moving the module does not cause the issue to move.
  • Alert is currently present and moving the cables on the module do not cause the issue to move.
  • Cycling power to the module may temporarily resolve issue.

IDM Symptom

  • Missed Frame event on modules in IDM.
  • Loss Of Sync ProLink 5 Port A or B event on modules in IDM.
  • Checksum Error ProLink 5 Port A or B event on modules in IDM.

Cause

  • The module adjacent to the module showing the alerts is imposing it's alerts onto its neighbor.

Resolution

  • Replace the adjacent module.
