Receive an error when launching the VNet Configuration Wizard
Potential Symptoms
- Unable to play messages from Display Studio, even though can run content manually from the VNet Control window or run test patterns from the VIP.
- Display Studio does not show the DMP as a listed item when check status in bottom left (green orb).
- When launching the VNet Configuration Wizard to add a DMP-8000/VNet to Show Control, receive a Microsoft .NET Framework error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore tis error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
The communication object.System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.
Environment
- Display Studio / Show Control System (SCS) (v1.37 and below)
- VNet/DMP-8000
Cause
- Unknown. Possible .NET framework update causing issues.
Resolution
- Run a repair on the Display Studio software.
