Receive "An error has occurred while trying to connect to the ftp site: on port 21. This protocol version is not supported" when trying to download Venus 1500 Media Kit

Potential Symptoms

  • When opening the Venus 1500 version 4 Media Kit to download content, the user receives an error that states "An error has occurred while trying to connect to the ftp site: on port 21. This protocol version is not supported."

Environment

  • Venus 1500 Version 4 Media Kit

Cause

  • There is no FTP site selected under the "Connection Settings" tab in the Media Kit downloader software.

Resolution

  • Click the "Connection Settings" button on the left side of the Media Kit window and select "Daktronics FTP."
