Can not communicate to the DMP-8000 from the Display Studio computer, bad Ethernet port on the DMP-8000.

Potential Symptoms

  • Display Studio software status is red with a message stating No DMP-8000 service.
  • Can not ping the DMP-8000 from the Display Studio computer.
  • Can not find the DMP-8000 with Display Finder from the Display Studio computer.
  • Can not ping the router from the DMP-8000.

Environment

  • DVX/DVN/DVNMC
  • DMP-8000
  • Display Studio (SCS) software
  • Configured NETGEAR Router

Cause

  • Bad Ethernet port on DMP-8000.

Resolution

  • Replace the DMP-8000 computer.
  • Remember, it is possible that the port on the router may also be bad as well. 

For Temporary Operation

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the router to the second Ethernet port.
  2. Change Local Area Connection from a static IP address to DHCP.
  3. Set  Local Area Connection to the following Static IP settings.
    • IP address 192.168.0.220 (or 192.168.0.225 for a DVNMC system).
    • Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.
    • Gateway 192.168.0.1.
