No communication between Hy-Tek Meet Manager and OmniSport 2000, not connected to J6 Results port

Potential Symptoms

  • OmniSport 2000 and Hytek MM are not communicating or connecting to each other.
  • Communication test fails in Meet Manager.

Environment

  • OmniSport 2000
  • Hy-Tek Meet Manager (MM)

Cause

  • Connected to wrong port on back of OmniSport (e.g. J4 Expansion Port, or J5 RTD Port).

Resolution

  • Connect the Hy-Tek computer to the J6 Results Port on the OmniSport 2000 console.
  • If using a USB to serial adapter, one can plug the adapter directly into the back of the OmniSport (the OmniSport J6 port is nulled).
  • If using a RS232 serial cable between the OmniSport and MM computer, ensure it is a straight-through cable.
