No communication, unable to associate players; Fibers connected incorrectly

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to connect to display for first time.
  • Get "Ethernet No Link" on boot up.
  • When computer is connected direct to media converter, NIC card reads "Network cable unplugged".
  • If controlled using Venus Control Suite (VCS), unable to associate DMP or VIP to the display during initial setup.

Cause

  • Fiber cables connected incorrectly: RX to RX and TX to TX on converters.

Resolution

  • Switch the fiber connectors on one of the fiber media converters so that the Rx goes to Tx and Tx goes to Rx.
