Content appears to be the wrong size, Wrong VNet/DMP configurations

Potential Symptoms

  • Content appears to be the wrong size when played from the VNet player, but does appear correct when played from the VIP.
  • New, replacement, or recently repaired and returned DMP-8000 is only show the upper left hand corner of content.
    • The content appears as the incorrect size in the VIP monitor also.

Environment

  • Product Family: Billboard, Message Displays, Video
  • Product: DB-1000, DB-2000, DB-3000, DB-4100, DB-4200, DVN, DVX, DVNMC
  • Component: VNet Player Manager, DMP configuration
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS), Visiconn

Cause

  • VNet player manager configurations of the display dimensions are incorrect (e.g. may be configured for 720 height and 1280 width).

Resolution

  1. For VNet firmware version 5.x.
    1. Locate the VNet player manager icon on the taskbar and right-click it.
    2. Choose control panel from the menu that opens.
    3. Click the Edit Configuration Settings tab.
    4. The default adapter should normally be set to 1.
    5. Change the Display Width and Display Height boxes to match the sign size.
    6. Click apply changes and yes when prompted to restart the player.
  2. For VNet firmware 6.2 up.
    1. Log into the DMP-8000 web config interface.
    2. Select the configuration tab.
    3. Select Display.
    4. Click on the set display configuration button.
    5. Make sure the correct video adapter is selected and resolution is set to 1280x720 and press next.
    6. Enter the correct display width and height and press next.
    7. Click on send configuration button on the left side of the web interface .
