DMP-8000: How do I set up data source into the player

Topic

  • How to set up a data source into DMP-8000 Player

Environment

  • Product:
  • Components: Dynamic Data; RTD; DSRC
  • Control System: DMP-8000

Steps

  1. On the DMP-8000 computer browse to the directory containing the player DSRC files
Note:  DMP-8000 version 7.0 and higher will store DSRC files in "C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\VNet4\Data
Previous versions of the DMP8000 stored DSRC files for RTD in "C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\VNet4\Content" for Windows 7,
    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\VNet4\Content" for Windows XP
  2. Open up one of the DSRC files in notepad.
  3. Select File>Save As... and rename to match the data source you are inputting. For example, "Closed Captioning.dsrc".
  4. Change the <DidName> section to match the DID file you will be using.

  5. Change the <string> section to match whatever output the RTD will be using (for UDP/IP 'udp://localhost:21000?protocol=rtd' where 21000 is the port)
  6. Confirm .DID file on your DMP-8000 player is the same as the .DID file as is on your Show Control computer. .DID's can be found at C: Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Content Studio\Standard Profile on Show Control computers and C: ProgramData\Daktronics\DDS\DID on DMP-8000 players
  7. Repeat for each RTD input needed to be added.

Note: These data source pairings (DID and DSRC files) need to be added into the Show Control Profile before they can be used within Content Studio and displayed by the DMP-8000 player. See Show Control: How to Configure the Profile Editor for more information on added sources to the Profile.
