Unable to set prices or communicate to display; Failed driver

Potential Symptoms

  • One or more displays are unable to update prices.
  •  Driver locked up on second side.
  • One or more displays cannot be line mapped.
  • Displays that are not communicating may exhibit the following:
    • Display is blank and the following prices in chain will not change price.
    • Display is stuck on its last price and will not change prices when prompted.
      • Display may have hardware address of 63 even though line to line cables are going from J9 to J10.
  • Issue will follow the driver when swapping it with a working driver.
  • When detecting displays, you get an extra sign.
    • ex It shows 1 Network Sign 1 L1 L2 Sign 2 L1 L2 then Shows Sign 3 L1 but you only have 4 signs.

DM-100 handheld symptoms:

  • Receiving a DNR CMND 05 error on the DM-100 handheld when trying to update prices.

Environment

  • Product: Fuelight, FL-3000, FL-4500
  • Component: Fuelight Driver
  • Control System: DM-100, hardwired communication

Cause

  • Driver failure.

Resolution

  • Replace failed driver.

For Temporary Operation

  • Put the failed driver into the last location of the driver series.  All displays should work except the last display until driver can be replaced.
  • Power cycle sign, possibly will allow for price update (press 'update display' button after power cycle).
