DMP-8000 Controlled display temperature is not showing in Venus or on the display in the presentations, DMP client services not setup

Potential Symptoms

  • Temperature box is blank on display.
  • If adding temperature and clock in Visiconn or VCS time may not update and temperature will show 100 degrees and does not change.
  • Temperature may show "DC" on display instead of the correct temp.
  • IDM will also have data access error on DMP.
  • If using Venus 1500 V4 brightness may show up as Scheduled.
  • Web interface of the DMP-8000 doesn't show a Dimming Level or temp reading.
  • If using Venus 1500 V4, sensor data does not display properly even though sensor data is present on the VIP-5060.

Cause

  • Client section of the configuration.xml is not present or configured correctly on the DMP.  With this not present the sensor data is not routing from the VIP to the DMP properly.

Resolution

  • Add client services to DMP web interface.
    1. Open DMP web interface.
    2. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
    3. Go to the "Configuration" sub tab.     
    4. Search for "client" in the box.
    5. Click the green plus sign next to "Clients".
    6. Choose SystemControlClientType
    7. Click the green plus sign next to "SystemControlClientType" and choose HttpTransportType from the drop down.
    8. Enter the port number used to access the VIP web interface in the box next to port.
    9. Click the green plus sign next to "HttpTransportType" and choose Host from the drop down.
    10. Enter the IP address for the VIP in the box next to host.
    11. Click the Send Configuration button in the DMP-8000 interface.
      • DMP-8000 may need to be restarted after sending configuration for updated settings to take effect.
      • Configuration should look similar to what is seen below when finished (IP and port may be different depending on VIP configuration).
