Connection to the display appears to be in use; Auto Updater is blocking communication

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to communicate with the display via Venus 1500 but able to ping the display and can connect in M2Config right after a reboot but not Venus.
  • Venus 1500 v4 showing alert: "Connection to the display appears to be in use".
  • When connecting with M2configi may receive alert - The compression level for the DSC of, , is invalid. It has been changed to the default of 9

Environment

Cause

  • Auto updater is enabled and causing the communication to the display to be in use.

Resolution

  1. Reboot the display and connect immediately via M2Config.
  2. Disable Auto updater by unchecking the box in Configuration tab, under Display -> Diagnostics.
  3. Send configuration.
