USB to Ethernet D-Link adapter not working, error message in Device Manager: "This device could not start. (Code 10)"

Potential Symptoms

  • Cannot connect or unable to connect to the display error in Venus 1500.
  • Check Network connections and D-Link does not show.
  • Device manager shows a yellow exclamation mark next to the D-Link adapter.
  • Checking properties for the USB to Ethernet adapter and the device status shows: "Device could not be started, (code 10)".

Cause

  • D-Link adapter has a bad driver installed.

Resolution

 

  • Disconnect and re-connect D-Link at computer.

Or, if the above does not resolve the issue.

  • If LAN connection is not used you can set that up with a static IP for the sign and connect.
