Axis P55XX PTZ web camera will not move

Potential Symptoms

  • Newly installed P5512 will not move.
  • The camera does not go through the full-range motion test upon boot up.

Environment

  • Axis P5512 PTZ Web cam
  • Axis P5514 PTX Web cam

Cause

  • The protective packaging was not removed before installation.

Resolution

  • Remove the protective packaging.
    1. Remove the camera from its mounting (outside enclosure, ceiling mount).
    2. Loosen the 4 top cover screws and remove the top cover.

    4. Reassemble the top cover.
