Steps

  1. Set computer to obtain an IP address automatically.
  2. Plug network cable from computer to an open port on the switch or router in the enclosure.      
  3. Open Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the VIP you want to connect to. 
  4. Read the various Java prompts that pop up and click through them appropriately.  A few key things to note:
    • Java version 6 or 7 will be needed and you do not want to update if prompted.
    • You do not want to block "potentially unsafe" components from being run. 
  5. Once the "Welcome to Daktronics remote display configuration" page is loaded perform the following.
    • If you are connecting to the primary VIP on a structure enter the VIP's password and click the Log In button.
    • If you are connecting to the secondary VIP on a structure, perform the following steps: 
      1. Click the "Communication Settings" button (Gear Icon) on the left side of the page. 
      2. In the "Settings" box that opens click the Configuration tab.
      3. Uncheck the "Use Default Configuration port" box.
      4. Enter 4600 in the "Configuration Port" box.
      5. Click OK.
      6. Enter the VIP's password and click the Log In button.
