FL-3000/4500 Gas Price Displays using the Key Fob are unable to Update Prices, Antenna Cable not properly Installed

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to change prices.
    • May not be able to sync the remote.
    • May not be able to line map the displays.
    • New install will show P.11 and will not change to a new price.
  • Antenna cable is not fully tightened to the antenna or receiver card.

  • Product Family: Digit and Price Displays
  • Product: FL-3000, FL-4500, Gas Price, Petroleum Fuel, Fuelight display 
  • Component: Key Fob/Remote 
  • Control System: FLR3-100 Key Fob (Wireless Communication Option)

Cause

  • The cable between the Antenna and the Receiver card has a poor connection.  This could occur on the receiver card or the antenna side of the cable.

Resolution

  1. Install antenna cable properly.  See FLR3-100 Installation Quick Guide, DD2291475 for details.
  2. When closing the door to the display, make sure the following items are checked:
    • Adjust the digit wire bundles so that it does not press against the antenna cable.
    • Verify no cabling will be shut in the door.
  3. Set prices on the displays.

Symptom Note

  • Have seen where we are unable to change prices but can change prices when the door is open on the host display.  This was specific to the digit wire bundles pressing against the antenna cable causing the loose connection to be full disconnected.
