How to bring in an MP3 player or phone input to a Yamaha O1V mixer

Topic

  • How do I bring in a MP3 player or iPhone input to my Yamaha O1V mixing board?

Environment

  • Sportsound 2000 or custom sound system
  • Yamaha O1V mixer

Steps

This can be accomplished using a few different methods.

  1. Use a 3.5mm stereo to dual RCA cable or adapter bring the input to the 2TR IN.  On channel 15/16 press the button in for 2TR IN.  The CD input uses the same input so ensure the CD player is shut off.  The iPod / phone / mp3 player volume should be max and you will need to turn GAIN up.O1V.jpg

  2. Use a LTIBLOX laptop interface.  This will have a 3.5mm stereo connector and provide a balanced XLR connection which can be brought into any open channel on the mixer.
