Show Control System: When installing Display Studio, receive the following error "Can't find script engine "VBScript" for script"

Potential Symptoms

  • When running the Display Studio installer, receive the following error:
    • Can't find script engine "VBScript" for script "C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Local\Temp\{BDD0B438-B9BD-4B8A-9325-9D6C784F79D9\Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0(x86) Core\SyncHelperCore.VBS".

  • When clicking Ok, receive the following error:
    • The installation of Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0(x86) Core appears to have failed. Do you want to continue with installation?

Cause

  • There is a bad path in a HKEY_Class_Root that is preventing the Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0(x86) Core to install.

Resolution

Daktronics does not perform repairs or fixes the computer registry. You will need to contact your IT Department, or a Computer Technician to resolve the issue. You may direct them to the following forum. However, proceed with caution and with a high understanding of the Class_Root directory.
