Randomly receiving an alert "startIndex ne peut pas être supérieur à la longueur de la chaîne."

Potential Symptoms

  • Randomly receiving an alert in the Alerts panel:
    • French: startIndex ne peut pas être supérieur à la longueur de la chaîne.
    • English: startIndex can not be greater than the length of the chain.
  • Receive the same error in Venus1500.log, located  at C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Venus1500 V4
    • French: startIndex ne peut pas être supérieur à la longueur de la chaîne.
    • English: startIndex can not be greater than the length of the chain.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v4
  • Windows French OS

Cause

  • The alert only appears when you move or copy presentations from one folder to another in the Content Tab. The software still moves or copies the presentation to its new location. However, it just generates an unnecessary alert.

Resolution

  • The issue has been submitted to engineering and a permanent fix will be available with an upcoming release.

Work Around

  • The alert does not impede the use of Venus 1500 v4 Software and the software can be used as normal.
