Venus 7000: How do I check my content that runs sluggish and locks up, Use V7ChkRif

Cause

  • Corrupt AVI file .

Resolution

Use the V7ChkRif program to identify corrupt files and remove the AVI.

  1. Open Windows Explorer, click on Start | Programs |Accessories | Windows Explorer.
  2. Double click on My Computer. Double click on the V7000 data folder. Double click on V7ChkRif.exe exe.jpg. The V7 Check Riff window will open.
  3. Click on the Browse button  next to the File Path text box. Navigate to the location where the files that need to be checked are stored. Double click on one of the files. All of the files in that folder should now be visible in the box at the bottom of the window.
  4. The program will automatically start testing the files. Once a file has been tested, check the Status column to see if any errors were found.
  5. If you only want to check files of a certain type, click on the Filter drop down arrow, click on a File Type. Click on the Start button .
  6.  Close the V7 Check Riff program.
  7.  Any file indicating "Not Riff" and "Not Valid"  could have something wrong with them.  Locate the files and remove them.  Replace the files with new versions.

Note

The v7chkrif program checks all DMP-7000 sequences and .avi files for corruption. It does not repair the files. Corrupt DMP-7000 sequences or .avi files can cause the DMP-7000 software to run slower on certain animations. Run v7chkrif once a week with heavy file creation or once a month with average use.
