Steps

  1. Execute Venus 7000 Check Riff. - see Venus 7000: How do I check my files on a computer that runs sluggish and locks up
  2. When Riff check is complete, close the program and open X:\V7000\V7ChkRiff.log.
    • Please note scan execution and completion will log, even if no suspected bad files or errors are found.
  3. Look for other logged items such as "No Access" and "Not Valid."
    1. OK - Indicates no problems found.
    2. Not Riff - Denotes the file is not a file designed for playback by Venus 7000.
    3. No Access - indicates the file is in use, possibly for editing or playback and is not an indication of problems.
    4. Not Valid and Not Valid: Seek past file end! - suggests the file is not going to work with Venus 7000 due to design or file damage and replacement from source of origin is recommended.
      • Please note Venus 7000 ChkRif may log an error after scanning a file approximately 2GB or larger in size even though the file works properly for Venus 7000 playback.
