Potential Symptoms

  • When manually starting the Daktronics Nucleus server receive error:
    • The Daktronics Nucleus Server service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, or example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.

  • When going to C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Nucleus Server\Logs (May be Program Files (x86))and viewing Error Logs, you see the following exception:
    • Exception - System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Daktronics.Nucleus.Operations.TaskProcessor' threw an exception. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging.Logger' threw an exception. ---> System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Configuration system failed to initialize ---> System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: Unrecognized configuration section system.serviceModel. Environment

Cause

The Microsoft .NET Framework machine.config file is corrupted at which ever line is specified in the error and will not allow the Daktronics Nucleus Service to start as it has a dependency on the Microsoft .NET Frameworks.

Resolution

The Microsoft .NET Framework components are not a Daktronics component or program, they are designed and owned by Microsoft. Daktronics does not troubleshoot or fix corrupted Microsoft .NET Framework issues. Please contact your IT Department or a Computer Technician to assist with fixing the computers .NET Framework Components.

For Temporary Operation

Below are only suggestions for IT or a Computer Technician to try, Daktronics Technicians do not perform the below suggestions. Please note the suggestions may not resolve or fix the issue with the machine.config file.

  • Try running a repair on all the Microsoft .NET Frameworks installed.
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling all the Microsoft .NET Frameworks and run Windows Updates to update the newly install .NET Frameworks.
