Last digit is not changing or displaying correctly on a FL-4500 Gas Price Display using the DM-100 handheld

Potential Symptoms

  • Handheld does not give an option to control the last digit.
  • Displays decimal digit (last digit, 4th digit) is not displaying correctly.
    • Display will only light the top horizontal segment on the last (fourth) digit panel.
    • Not able to adjust the last digit (decimal value) when changing prices.
  • Displays decimal digit (last digit, 4th digit) is not changing, stays at 8 or 9 but the other digits change fine

Environment

  • Fuelight
  • FL-4500 (International digit layout)
  • Gas, Petroleum or Fuel Price Display, FL digit product
  • DM-100 Handheld (FLD3-2000, FLR3-1500 kits)

Cause

  • DM-100 handheld is not on the correct function.  It is set to Gas Price function.

Resolution

  • Set DM-100 to Rate Function.
    1. Power up the DM-100.
    2. While it is going through the sequence you will see the function it is currently in Current Function Gas Price followed by an opportunity to change the function: Change Function Press Set Funct.  Press Set Function when the DM-100 prompts for it.
    3. Use the up and own arrow keys to get to Rate Display and press Enter.

 

  • Set the tails or no tails option with the new function.
    1. Press Menu.
    2. Using the arrow keys select
    3. Using the arrow keys select Configuration and press Enter.
    4. Press the down arrow once to get to Style and press Enter.
    5. Two options are available for the FL-4500 display systems: 4.69 w/ tails or 4.69 no tails (See picture below).  Select the desired option and press Enter.

    6. Press Update Display.
