Unable to communicate to second Galaxy display, Primary-Primary, Ethernet communication, Ports

Potential Symptoms

  • Second display blank on a primary-primary setup
  • Unable to get status or communicate with the second display, however able to get status from the first display
  • Both displays show the same IP address in Venus 1500 display configuration

Environment

  • GPR Galaxy display
  • Ethernet Communications
  • Both GPR's behind a single CDMA or router

Cause

  • Configuration ports on the second display are incorrect in Venus 1500

Resolution

  1. Verify the port configuration on the display
  2. Modify the Venus 1500 display configuration to match the sign

Note:  Normally when there are two displays behind a single router/modem the first display uses the default port range of 4500-4525 and the second display used a port range of 4600-4625
