Content studio; receive error: "The presentation could not be loaded. Root element is missing."

Potential Symptoms

  • When opening message recently retrieved from display, receive the following message in content studio: "The presentation could not be loaded. Root element is missing."

Environment

  • Content Studio
  • M3 controller

Cause

  • File did not fully retrieve into the computer, or is corrupt.

Resolution

  1. Attempt to retrieve file from the controller.
  2. When prompted, select Copy and Replace.
  3. Re-open file in Content Studio.
    • If issue persists recreate content.
