Scoreboard Blank or Information Showing in Wrong Place; Addressing Dip Switches not Fully Seated

Potential Symptoms

  • Scoreboard section may be blank or information coming up in the wrong area or location of scoreboard.
  • One or more of the addressing dip switches is partially engaged, loose, or will not hold setting.
  • Addressing dip switches are in the correct position.
  • The driver clicks like it's address is being changed when the dip switches that are already in the down position are pushed on.
  • Power On Self Test (POST) or address test indicate incorrect driver address.

Cause

  • Stuck, faulty, or bad dip switches resulting in incorrect driver address.

Resolution

  • Replace driver.

For Temporary Operation

  • Send an address plug(J19) to replace the dip switch settings.
  • Temporary emergency fix: Disengage the dip switch that is failing and use a wire in the address plug(J19) to compensate for the value that is missing. 
  • Toggling dip switches used for address off and on several times may get the switches to re-engage. 
  • Power cycling scoreboard may temporarily resolve the issue.
