Modules not getting power, Harness pins not making good contact

Potential Symptoms

  • Module(s), row or partial of row of modules are blank.
  • DMP does not have power present at the 25 pin jack.
  • Display is blank.
  • Strip of blank modules on a Display with no module signal redundancy. The first blank module or two in the chain are not getting power.
  • Good voltage measured at power supply or power supply/fused power distribution board.
  • 0 VDC on end of harness that plugs into module.
  • Harness has good continuity (crucial step).

  • Product: Galaxy Displays or Video ProStar displays, DB-4200, DB-5000 Billboards
  • Component: Fused power supplies, Fused power distribution boards

Cause

  • The two-pronged male pins are not making good contact with the female cylindrical pins.

Resolution

  • Replace harness or power supply.

For Temporary Operation

  1. Spread the two prongs out on the male pins on the power supply.
  2. Check the female cylindrical pins.
  3. Wiggle the connection to ensure it is solid.
