Environment

  • Product: DMP-7000/ Venus 7000
  • Component:
  • Control System:

Steps

  1. Open up the V7000 shell, with the spinning globe.
  2. Click on the Diagnostics button on the right.
  3. Select the Lamp Test tab.
  4. Using the dropdown at the top, select the host* display.
  5. Select a test pattern from the list.
  6. Click on Start Test.
  7. Click on the Monitor button to view the pattern that should be playing on the display.
Some notes:
  • Leaving this tab or clicking on OK will stop the test pattern. You can however open up another copy of the shell to check settings while the test is playing.
  • Diagonal Gradient Test is good for testing color and motion, Driver Pattern Test is helpful when trying to locate a position on the display.
  • You will need to click on the Stop Test button to change any test settings.
  • The Driver Size will effectively change the font size of the Driver Pattern Test, and the Bright / Dim Test. If you're having a hard time viewing the letters/numbers on those patterns 16x32 can be helpful.
  • If the test pattern doesn't show up on the display but does on the monitor, there's a few quick things to try, putting up a test pattern again after each. If still having problems start troubleshooting to determine where the content is being lost.
        a) Restart sign service (Diagnostics->Services->Select V7SS and click Restart)
        b) Play content normally, ask the normal operator to try playing content.
        c) Close all Windows (Display->Right click Host->Windows->Uncheck all boxes->OK)
        d) If there's a VLink, set it to Venus Mode (VLink->Set the Data Source to Venus)
*The host display is the main display, with windows being associated with the host display. Most will have Host in the name, but if you aren't sure there's an easy way to check. From the shell go to Configure at the top, and select the Device Driver tab (or just Drivers on older versions). In here it will list all of the drivers, and signs associated with them. Any sign associated with a driver will be a host display.
