Galaxy temp on sign showing up much lower than actual temperature

Potential Symptoms

  • Temperature that is showing up on the sign is much lower than the actual temperature (sign showing 8 degrees).
  • Temperature listed in (advanced status) in Venus is higher than what is showing on the sign (controller is getting temp of 48 degrees from temp sensor).
  • Temp message is created with only the temp digits and the degree symbol (no F or C).
  • In M2config on status page the temp is detected as 48 F (8 C).
  • Galaxy temp on sign showing up much lower than actual temperature

Environment

Cause

  • Temp message was created using the data field on the Celsius side of the format window and customer is wanting Fahrenheit temp to be shown on display.

Resolution

  1. Edit the temp message.
  2. Remove the current data field for the temperature.
  3. Add data field for correct format on Fahrenheit side of format window.
  4. Re-save message.
  5. Connect to display and remove old temp message.
  6. Send new copy of temp message to display.
  7. Verify temp is showing up correctly on sign.
