Unable to communicate to Galaxy display using a Modem

  • Unable to connect with Galaxy display using customer's dial up modem even though able to communicate from Daktronics
  • Comma (,) exists within the number being used by the created display

Environment

  • Product: AF-3150, AF-3160, AF-3165, AF-3180, AF-3190, AF-3197, AF-3200, AF-3220, AF-3400
  • Component: 56K Modem - Number being used requires a 9 to dial out followed by a 1 then the 10 digit number
  • Control System: Venus 1500 V3

Steps

Cause

  • Pause unneeded with sites dialing system.

Resolution

  • Remove the comma (,) from the number and attempt to connect to the sign.
    • Note: Adding a comma within the number will add a pause when dialing the display.  Some sites may require no commas others may need 1 or 2 inserted.
