Scrolling Text or animation appears to play choppy or freezes out on the Message Center

Potential Symptoms

  • Scrolling Text or animation presentations appear choppy or seem to freeze on the screen even though they play correctly in Venus 1500 software.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v3 & v4
  • Galaxy & GalaxyPro
  • Electronic Message Center (EMC) or Board (EMB), Marquee, Readerboard, Display

Cause

  • There is a policy or zoning restriction enabled causing the sign to hold the individual frames of the messages for the length of the hold time set in the policies.

Resolution

Warning! Before proceeding with resolution, make sure your City or Township does not have Zoning Restrictions that you may be violating when using Scrolling text or Animations on the display.

Venus 1500 v4

  1. Launch Venus 1500 v4.
  2. Click on the Orange V Application Menu in the upper left corner.
  3. Select Venus 1500 Options.
  4. Select Policies.
  5. Uncheck Enforce Policy and click OK.
  6. Go to Schedule Tab and click Publish or Publish to display to resend out the schedule.

  1. On the Venus 1500 Shell click on Administrator.
  2. Click on Edit and select Zoning Configuration.
  3. Uncheck Minimum Hold Time and click OK.
  4. Close out of the Administrator window and go to the Display Manager to resend out content.
