GP4/DB-4200 is dim, Time Out Occurrence when trying to log into VIP-5060 web interface

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to log into the VIP 5060 web interface but can ping it.
    • Receive a "Failed to Connect" error/alert stating "the device is not responding" when trying to log into VIP.
    • Receive timeout error after entering the username and password to log into the VIP-5060.
    • VIP shows "Communication Failure" event in IDM. 
  • Display is in a fully dim or bright state and is not responding to manual or automatic brightness commands.
    • When trying to change the brightness mode in the DMP-8000 web interface, may receive the following: "An error has occurred while updating the configuration connection failed
    • GP4: If Venus controlled the brightness setting will show: "Schedule [0]: 0."
    • When trying to change the brightness settings from Venus will receive the following error: "The data received from the display is incorrect." 
  • Temperature is not reading on the display.
    • Temperature locked up on display.
    • Venus reporting temperature but temperature is not fluctuating.
    • Venus may also not be reporting a temperature.
    • Setting a temperature offset does not alter temperature.
  • IDM shows communications error.

Cause

  • Firmware issue.

Resolution

  1. Power cycle display.
  2. Log into the VIP-5060.
  3. Update firmware to 2015.02.09 or newer.
