Cause

Computer Processing power and signal distance between the All Sport, DSTI, Display controllers, truck dock, etc.

Resolution

  1. Make sure that all RTD frames are playing to the host display (the sign with the transmitter card attached)
    Lag in RTD Game Clock.aspx
  • A serial connection will exhibit less lag then say a network feed (UDP, TCP/IP)
  • Truck dock feed will normally skip a few times a minute but is more noticeable when the clocks (shot clock / main clock) have less than a minute left which would give the audience that 1/10th of a second difference

  • There shouldn't be a delay when the time is sent to the numeric clocks using a physical signal cable because the signal does not have to travel far.  When officials look at replays, it is the All Sport that holds the official time, not the video board or truck dock.
  • When the data goes through several devices (signal converter, player, display interface, signal converter) it adds processing power and a time lag.
