Environment

  • Component: EBR (Ethernet Bridge Radios), xtr models
  • Control System:

Steps

Possible Issues:
  1. Loose Cat5 cable.
  2. Bad QC:
    1. For AF-3500 series, GPR, GP3, GP4: bad Ethernet female/female Quick Connect jack (J-1474).
    2. For AF-3200 series, AF-3400 series, AF-3700: bad quick connect card (0P-1229-2004.)
  3. Bad Ethernet port on Client radio or Bad Cat5 cable (corroded/bad termination).
  4. Bad Ethernet port on controller.
Troubleshooting Steps:
  1. Check for any loose connections or obvious signs of damage.
  2. May need to open sign (1/8" T-handle) or client radio (usually 3mm Allen key) to check connections.
  3. Try connecting a laptop to the exterior Ethernet QC jack and check communication AF-3500 series, GPR, GP3, GP4.
    • Note:  For AF-3200 series, AF-3400 series, AF-3700, the qc/drop down cable has both power and signal on it.  This cable CANNOT be disconnected from the client radio and plugged into a laptop (i.e. it will burn out the NIC on a computer.)
  4. If exterior connection fails, try connecting directly to controller.
  5. Replace appropriate parts/isolate as much as possible.
