Environment
- DXTR
- Pointstreak 50/50
- Bump 50/50
Resolution
- The recommended solution would be to implement DXTR with internet access to the source XML/RSS Feed.
- There would be a standard charge for DXTR and the 50/50 Map File.
- When interfacing with PointStreak's 50/50 or Bump 50/50, it is the recommendation from Daktronics Data Product Management group that XML and File RTD such as (and not limited to) the use of DropBox be prohibited. This is because:
- This could introduce security risks including putting the security of the system(s) in risk of hacking. (I.E. Dropbox has already been hacked)
- This could introduce performance risks because updating a file every couple of seconds increases network traffic resulting in a slower performance of all networked Daktronics equipment.
- Multiple sources accessing the same file can cause partial (not full) information to be transmitted.
- Some Daktronics players are not File RTD compatible.
