Light Strip segment dim or not illuminating; Failed light strip segment

Cause

  • Failure or damage to a single light strip segment.
    • Metal frame cutting through the wires where they come out the back of the light strips.
    • The outside screw that mounts the adjustable ears on the universal light strip assembly runs into the electrical wires when they are fully inserted causing an abrasion point
    • The small tabs on the metal used as a frame for the light strips is too short and causes the metal tab that holds the light strip in place to rub against the electrical connection.

Resolution

  • Replace entire light strip kit making sure to use all the parts (light strips & brackets) supplied in the replacement kit.
