Environment

  • Control System: Venus 1500 4.18.1 or higher

Cause

The computer housing the Venus 1500 Version v4.18 or higher software has the power policy set to a sleep mode after a certain amount of time. Venus 1500 v4.18 and greater desires this Windows Feature to be turned off. This feature only needs to be turned off for GP4 display types using data feeds, otherwise when computer sleeps, the feeds will no longer update out to the display.

Resolution

Only needed to be performed if using a GP4 display type and data feeds. Change the computer so it does not sleep or hibernate.

  1. Go to Windows Start Menu and click Control Panel.
  2. Click Power Options.
  3. Click Change when the computer sleeps.
  4. For the Put the computer to sleep, change it to Never.

For Temporary Operation

  1. If display is not a GP4, or is a GP4 that is not using data feeds, the power setting does not need to be turned off and alert can be ignored.
