Time and Temp display shows E4 and will not accept settings from handheld, polarity reversed

Potential Symptoms

  • Time and Temp display shows E4.
  • Will not accept settings from handheld but handheld says sequence sent.
  • Voltages read as ~12VDC throughout signal path from DM-100 j-box to signal in jack on driver.
  • During troubleshooting, Surge Card may have been bypassed by piggy backing Signal Out wires on top of Signal In wires.
    • Signal In Tan with Black and Red with Red.

Cause

  • Signal out polarity on surge suppressor card is reversed.

Resolution

  • Wire signal out on surge suppressor card with Black wire as - polarity and Red wire as + polarity.
