How to check voltage inside a surge card for a Mobotix M24 webcam

  • How do I check the voltage going to and from the surge card?

Environment

  • Product: Mobotix M24 Webcam
  • Component: POE Surge Protector
  • Control System: Mobotix

Steps

    1. Open the surge card protective case.
    2. Measure the input voltage across a positive and negative pin marked in the picture below.
      • No voltage present: Find where the voltage is lost starting at the POE injector to the surge card.
      • 55 volts present: proceed to next step.
    3. Measure the output voltage across a positive and negative pin marked in the same picture.
      • No voltage present: replace surge card.
      • 55 volts present: surge card is operating normally.
