Galaxy Display (M2 based), Time and Date will not update on its own; Controller has a large amount of deleted space

Potential Symptoms

  • Time on Galaxy display is not updating.
  • Time and Date stuck at the time messages were last sent out.
  • Schedules are not starting or stopping on correct time or dates.
  • After setting the time  on the display in Venus 1500, display will gradually loose time.

Cause

  •  Controller has a large amount of deleted space "blue" on display status (i.e. 45%).

Resolution

  • Perform Memory cleanup.
    • Instructions for Venus 1500 Version 4:
      1. While connected to the display, click the Display Tools icon (white drop down arrow next to the green refresh arrows) on the home tab.
      2. Select Memory Cleanup.
      3. Refresh status to display after the memory cleanup has finished to make sure time and date have updated and blue deleted space is gone.
    • Instructions for Venus 1500 Version 3:
      1.  Right click on the display in the Display List of Display Manager.
      2.  Select Properties.
      3.  Choose Memory Cleanup.
      4.  Click Start.
      5.  Click Yes.
