Presentations does not end and start as scheduled in Venus V4 on my Galaxy (M2), Clock is not updating properly

Potential Symptoms

  • Presentations do not end when they should or begin as scheduled.
  • Presentations listed in running presentations do not move to stored presentations when the scheduled time comes to an end.
  • Messages scheduled to start at a given time do not move from stored presentations to running presentations.
  • Venus is set to Online and is refreshing every 30 sec or so but time in the status pane does not change/update.
  • Presentations will not end and start as they are scheduled in Venus V4

Environment

  • Electronic Message Center (EMC), Marquee, Electronic Message Board (EMB), Display
  • M2 Controller based products
  • Venus 1500 version 4

Cause

  • The controller is setup to automatic for the clock source, but is not properly detecting the optimal settings.

Resolution

  • Change the clock source from automatic to Onboard RTC on the controller.
    1. Connect to the display using the M2Config utility.
    2. Under the Configuration tab, go to the Display folder and click on Clock.
    3. Adjust the Clock Source to On Board RTC.
    4. Go to File and select Set Configuration.
    5. Open Venus and get status.
    6. Time in the status pane should now change when SW refreshes.
